What does it make when you attend a first year class with students much younger than you are?

What does it make when you attend a first year class with students much younger than you are? it is simply fun and a bit challenging.I used to be a student few years ago, and somehow things went quite different than it was supposed to,and I found myself in the job market with a salary and a deep wish to go back to study as a full time student.
It is something that one can only understand after years of separation. It is just like two lovers who used to love each other, but after years they find that they were not meant to end up together. So,the lover decided to go for a trip to restore himself and hopefully gain a new love.Although he tried,he could not find the light in this new dark and decided to go back to his first love but with a new view of things...he knew, from the start, that he went away for a while to return and get closer to his love.
Same for me,I knew that I had to be back...without any shame or feelings of regression. Thus,I made my decision and the Providence made the rest. Now I am with more than one hundred student in the English section, most of them are much younger than myself and still under their twenties.
I am older than them, but when I am with them it doesn't make that much of a difference and I feel like I am in their age,I feel that my mechanism of judgement is less severe and more tolerant.I think, also, that I can understand them better and I feel rather surprised how we are associated in place and different in time conception. It simply a magical and continuous go and fro between the present and the past.
It is obvious for me that being with those young boys and girls  is uncovering the dug will in my spirit and making it alive again. On the other hand,I feel like I need to take the challenge to be there when they think I can add something to their lives in order to optimize their journey's time towards success and happiness.

  1. You don't have to focus on the fact that you're with students much younger than you , what you have to put the attention on , is that you're finally doing what you like the most , and that you gave yourself a chance to get ride of that fair of doing what you like . Unfortunately it's the case of a lot of people , they are afraid to do what they want just probably because they will not have a better job . but seriously it's a wrong thought .
Personally I have made the wrong choice last year by studying economics , I did it because I wanted to please my parents and I was like ' Okay... anyway I will have a better future with economics ' . But then , I figured out that I wasn't happy ,the routine was literally struggling me . The same numbers , the same exercises that I had to do again and again , made me realize that my life will continue in that way and that I'll probably have the most boring job for the rest of my life . So I decided to be brave just for once and change the road that i've been following . I didn't think about the year that I'll technically loose , I didn't take it as an echec . I thought for the first time to please myself by doing what I like and what I think i'll do my best in .
I was lucky because i made this decision earlier than some students that I know , but it's never to late for such a decision .
Good for you that you finally came back to your first love ( English ) , it's not something that you should be ashamed of ! it's something that should make you proud .
And we see how hard you work , and how much you like this language , so we're also proud to have such an exemple in our class .

  2. It seems like you've taken the advice that was given by Steve Jobs in his commencment speech at Stanford University! I can really feel it mirrored in your story. what you've done exactly is that you connected the dots, and you've followed your intuition and heart. Well, let me quote for you what he said, and then you'll see by yourself although i think that you've already watched that video! anyway, here's what he said " Looking back was one of the best decisions that i've ever made." Also, he said " You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them by looking backwords," Finally, " Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." So I congratulate you that you've found what you love, and i respect your courage for following your intuition and heart. I hope you the best luck with you do, and i won't worry about you anymore because you are on the right path.
